"Angel Tree" Christmas Shopping. |
2008 was our 7th year participating in the Salvation Army's "Angel Tree" program. Raeann School of Dance puts on an annual Benefit that runs three shows and collect doantions at the door. The proceeds go to the Angel Tree program. |
| This is part of the group of Dancers who went shopping for the Salvation Army Angel Tree. We bought for 30 kids and spent $1000.00 We made the profit from the Benefit Performance held at the Grand Theatre December 9th. Even though we had icey roads, we still made over $1,000. |
On Shopping day, all students and parents go to a designated shopping area. Each child is given an "angel" to shop for. |
| Angel Tree started in 2000 as a church organized group of children in New York that were sponsered by a coporation in the Twin Towers when 9/11 hit it knocked out the Corporate sponsor for the children and the children with no money for Christmas. The kids like the Benefit, but enjoy sending gifts over sending a check. So we chose to help meet the needs of local area children. |
