Policies & Guidelines Dance Attire
Dance Attire
After completion of registration forms, students will receive a pamphlet explaining in detail dance attire including proper footwear, attire and appearance required for dance class. As in every activity that we participate in, the appropriate dress code is implemented for a reason. For dancing, wearing proper dance clothes to class allows for ease of movement, as well as, providing the teacher with the ability to detect and correct any physical problems students may have with their body alignment.
- Dancers should wear a leotard and tights. No big shirts or cover-ups. Biker shorts will be permitted.
- Hair should be out of the face and securely tied back.
- Boys can wear biker shorts, or sweats.
Please label with student's name all their shoes and clothing. This can help in the confusion of lost items and taking the wrong items. A bag for dance shoes and accessories is highly suggested. This helps keep their items organized. As with any activity, dance requires the proper shoes. The correct size is very important. Getting shoes too big can cause injury and discomfort to your child.
We measure your child for the correct size. We have special ordering days since shoes have to be ordered. We do however stock some shoes at the studio. We do have used shoes for a discounted price.
Tap Shoes -
Shoes purchased at discount stores and garage sales could harm the studio floor not to mention your child's feet. Sizing is important to protect growing feet. We always provide you with shoes at a practical price. We are not in the business of making money by selling shoes.

The more advanced student may prefer a black tap shoe. Cost depends on the style and brand of shoe desired. Please discuss your shoes with your teacher so you will have the suitable shoe for your feet and your style of dance.

Pointe- Are not available thru ordering, these must be tried on. The importance of the correct toe shoe is critical. Permanent injuries can happen with improper shoe fitting.
For the Pre-pointe student, we can order a special shankless shoe that is properly fitted to protect her ankles and feet.
